What began as an idea turned into a phenomenon.
Inspired by March Madness, I decided to create a bracket of 49ers coverage to 1) Get more exposure for all of the great 49ers content creators out there, and 2) Determine people's favorite source for 49ers news.
After hundreds of thousands of votes, there was a very clear winner. Congratulations to the people's champion of 49ers coverage, Eric Crocker!
I was blown away by the response to this whole thing, and the way it was embraced by so many across the spectrum of 49ers coverage. It was always meant to be something fun that sparked debate. As I tweeted multiple times, I rushed the idea after having thought of it too late, and in the process left off many worthy contributors.
I reached out to many of them personally, but to anyone that I didn't contact, I wholeheartedly apologize. I promise the omission was not done intentionally or with any malice whatsoever.
The good news is that we'll be doing this every year, and we'll be sure to expand the tournament significantly in 2024.
